Remember us? The Carol Corps Yarn Brigade?
During the holiday craziness that strikes crafters and gives us the desire to rip our hair out, we kind of went dormant for a little while. We wanted to make sure that we as makers-of-things were able to devote proper focus to the people that we make for in our personal lives, as well as for ourselves.
Then, it got cold, and one of our core members started a new job, and one of our other core members (me) was interviewing for a new job, and ultimately…. we let January and February slide away from us without doing much to promote the fact that we’re here and ready to make things!
Plus, we were having way too much fun in the CCYB chat room on Ravelry. Come join us if you’re a member of the Rav group - it’s a hoot!
So now! Friends!
We are coming to the end (hopefully) of this brutally cold winter. We are fast approaching a time when people will need a lot less knitwear. But that DOESN’T MEAN that people will need a lot less support. So, we’re reaching out to you, our friends, followers, fans, and Carol Corps, for some help.
What do you think we should do? How should we go forward, helping members of the Carol Corps who need our help in the warm summer months? What kind of support would you look for from a group of yarn-and-fibre fanatics during the warmer months of the year?
And, an idea that was floated by a couple members of the group, and crystallized by the wonderful agentpaxieamor — would you be willing to participate in a knit-and-crochet-item auction, with proceeds going to support the Girls Leadership Institute, favored charity of kellysue and the Carol Corps?
We’d love to hear from you. We’d love new ways to help you all out, and we’d love to celebrate the relaunch with the new #1 next month, and we’d love your help in coming up with a way to do it.
Please re-post and signal boost if you’re so inclined. And please feel free to respond via ask if character limits and/or publicly-visible responses aren’t your thing. We want your input, and we don’t care how we get it. (insert evil laugh here)
So. What do you think?
